Pepe the Giant

Pepe was sitting all alone on a shelf in my local games store, and leaving him behind just didn't feel right. Bringing him home to the Forge felt like a proud moment… although, in hindsight, he's spent considerably more time on my painting desk than he ever will on the tabletop.

He was a really fun paintjob, though, and gave me the chance to experiment with something new. I used dark violet undertones to build up deep shadows and layers of damaged, bruised-looking skin, creating a much richer finish than I would have achieved with a straightforward basecoat.

It's a technique I've really enjoyed experimenting with, and one I'll definitely be carrying forward into many more miniatures!
