This was one of the first miniatures I painted at this scale: Bjorn the Fell-Handed, from the Warhammer 40,000 Venerable Dreadnought kit.

There's always been something about enormous war machines stomping across battlefields that appeals to me. Add a bit of Viking inspiration and the incredible lore behind the Dreadnoughts, and you have pretty much everything I could want in a miniature.

Safe to say, this is far from my finest work! I don't think I'd even learned how to layer or shade properly at this point, but I certainly had the patience to pick out every last detail in gold.

I still remember sitting at my parents dining room table, painting Bjorn long before the Forge ever existed. Looking back at him now, it's nice to see how far I've come, and how much I still want to learn.
